Buddi GPS Plan

The ideal way to stay connected to our service whether you’re at home or exploring the great outdoors.

  • Use it anywhere – at home, in the garden, when you’re shopping, out walking, or even driving
  • Detects when you take a fall
  • Share your exact location with carers, loved ones, or the emergency services
  • £203 one-time equipment cost, plus a £22 per month subscription fee
Please note: In light of COVID-19, your Buddi will take two working days to be dispatched.

The buddi gives you access to our 24/7 monitoring service, wherever you are and whenever you need us.

This plan is perfect for people that lead relatively active lifestyles but who want a measure of reassurance that help is available if needed. It can also provide reassurance if you care for someone with dementia.

The system comes in two parts, the buddi wristband and the buddi Clip.

Buddi Wristband

The buddi wristband is made of soft silicone and is designed to be worn 24 hours a day, you can even wear it in the shower or bath. It’s packed full of features, including an SOS button that works in a similar way to a pendant so you can contact us when you need help.

Buddi is also equipped with a fall sensor so it will automatically raise an alert if you have a fall. Your wristband will notify you that an alert has been raised, which you can easily cancel if you decide it’s not necessary.

The battery will last a week on one charge, making it super easy to manage.

Buddi Clip

The buddi GPS plan also comes with the buddi clip, which connects wirelessly to your wristband and removes the need for an expensive smartphone device.

The buddi clip has an SOS button and provides two-way speech if you need to speak to our 24/7 care team. The buddi clip also provides us with your exact GPS location if you raise an alert.

The buddi clip is designed to adapt to your lifestyle. It’s small, unobtrusive with a rechargeable battery that can last up to 24 hours, depending on your usage.

Both the buddi Wristband and buddi clip must be within 20 metres of each other to function correctly.

24/7 Monitoring

If you press the alert button for help, or if the system detects that you may have fallen, a message is immediately sent to our 24/7 care team with your exact location so they can provide immediate assistance.
The Buddi clip will simultaneously open a call to our team so that you can let us know what your situation is.

Our team will assess your needs, organise the appropriate help and contact any registered contacts to inform them of your situation.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does the initial £45 set-up fee cover?

This non-refundable fee enables us to prepare your careline alarm and collate all of your medical and emergency contact details on our systems.

  • What does the buddi wristband do?

The wristband is designed to be worn at all times. It senses motion and communicates wirelessly with the buddi Clip.

In the case of a fall, or if the alert buttons are pressed, the wristband raises an alert. This alert is communicated via the buddi Clip to our 24/7 Monitoring Centre. Our team will answer your call and will be able to talk to you through the integrated speaker on the Clip.

  • What does the buddi Clip do?

The buddi Clip uses GPS mobile technology to locate the wearer and has buttons which raise an alert to our 24/7 monitoring centre when pressed simultaneously for a few seconds. It contains a speaker and a microphone enabling two-way communication to our care team.

  • Where and how can I wear my buddi?

Your buddi Wristband is designed to be worn at all times – in bed, in the bathroom and out and about! Simply fasten around your wrist to the desired length.

The buddi Clip can be worn around your neck on a lanyard, carried in your pocket or handbag, or fastened to a bag or belt.

  • How do I set up my buddi?

Your buddi will be delivered pre-programmed and ready to use. However, you will need to charge your devices before they can be used.

Charging the Wristband: Once your buddi wristband arrives, place it on charge using the charger provided. After two hours your wristband will be fully charged and the LED will glow green.

Charging the Clip: The buddi Clip should also be placed on charge using the charger provided. After four hours the LED will glow green. You can then test that it is working by pressing both panic buttons once and waiting to ensure it dials through to our care team.

Our customer care team can provide further assistance on 0800 180 85 40 and they will be happy to help with the setup of the buddi.

  • Can I use the wristband without the clip?

No. The buddi Clip must remain within 20 metres of the wristband at all times.

  • How do I know if buddi will work where I live?

The buddi clip uses the mobile phone network (GSM) to communicate its location to the system that our care team use. In order to ensure the best possible service, the buddi clip comes fitted with an EU-wide roaming SIM which connects to the strongest signal of any mobile network that is available in your area.

Please note that the mobile network coverage in your area or the signal that you are able to receive inside your home are elements that are outside of our control.

If you are unsure as to whether the Buddi GPS alarm is suitable for you and your particular situation, give us a call and we'll help you find the right plan for you.

  • How long will my wristband battery last for?

When communicating with the buddi Clip it will last 1 – 2 weeks, depending on individual use, and takes 2 hours to charge. A USB charger is provided that is designed to be able to charge the wristband whist it is being worn, should you not want to remove the wristband at all.

  • How long will my buddi clip battery last for?

The buddi Clip battery will typically last for up to two days. The battery life of the buddi Clip is dependent on use, for example if it is taken out and about for prolonged periods of time, or alerts are raised frequently, this will result in the battery discharging more quickly. To help maximise the battery life of the buddi Clip, we recommend that it is placed on charge for two hours a day or whenever the wearer is at home but within range of the wristband.

  • What is the range between the buddi clip and buddi wristband?

The buddi Wristband communicates with the buddi Clip using Radio Frequency (RF). The range is up to 40 metres in open space.

  • What if I lose my buddi clip or wristband?

If you lose either the clip or wristband, please call 0800 180 8540 and our customer service team can arrange a replacement. Charges will apply.

  • Are the buddi clip and wristband waterproof?

The buddi wristband has a waterproof rating of IP67, which means it can withstand being submerged in up to 1 metre of water for 30 mins. This means it can be worn in the shower or bath.

The buddi clip has a waterproof rating of IP54, so it is only protected against water splashes and should not be taken into the bath or shower. However, the clip should be placed within 20 metres of the worn wristband.
