The new Stockport Council marketplace site provides greater choice and price flexibility for residents, allowing them to make real choices as to the care they receive. The concept is simple – residents receive a cash payment from the local authority and they then choose where they purchase services or equipment from.
This Direct Payment system is now being rolled out across the country, with Stockport Council being one of the first to really actively promote this option. More information on Direct Payments can be found here.
