Add a key safe
We ask that you have a key safe installed if you don't have any emergency contacts living nearby We are one of the only careline providers who allow you to subscribe to our service even if you don’t have any keyholders living nearby; all we ask is that you install a key safe.
Order an extra pendant
An extra pendant is ideal if you would find it useful to have spare emergency call buttons that you can press around the home.
Add a second user
This is an excellent idea if you have someone else living in your home who may also benefit from using a careline alarm. If you order an extra alarm for somebody else, we'll ask you for their medical and emergency contact details later.
Please note, you must live together.

Frequently asked questions.
These are some of the most common questions asked about our pendant alarm plan.
When you activate your pendant alarm, we’ll speak to you through the loudspeaker and microphone on the base unit. (You can’t use the pendant to talk to us!)
If we cannot communicate with you via the base unit, we will call your landline phone to ensure everything is okay. If there is no response, we will call keyholders or – if the situation requires – the emergency services.
If you have trouble hearing us when we speak to you through your alarm, we’ll call one of your emergency contacts to check that you are okay.
Extra pendants are available at the checkout at an additional cost.
Adding an extra pendant to your plan is an excellent idea if you have someone else living in your home who may also benefit from using a Telecare24 careline alarm.
If you live alone, you might also find it useful to have another device handy somewhere else in your home.
If you order an extra pendant for somebody else, we’ll ask you for their medical and emergency contact details as well.
The simple answer is no, as everything is included in your plan.
- There is no charge at all if you have one of our digital personal alarm plans.
- If you still have one of our analogue personal alarm plans, when you raise an alert for help, your personal alarm unit will act like a phone and place a call to our control centre using an 0844 number. Please note that your telephone service provider may charge you for these calls if they are not included within your tariff. You should check with your phone service provider or visit Ofcom for further details.
- *Using 0844 numbers for careline services is something that is recommended by Ofcom. We cannot change this number.
Yes. Most broadband providers automatically enable Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which allows you to make calls through your internet connection. However, we recommend confirming with your provider to ensure VoIP is enabled on your broadband.
The pendant has a battery life of 18-24 months, dependent on use. Our team will automatically be notified when the battery on your pendant runs low. When this happens, we’ll reach out to arrange a free replacement.
In the event of a power cut, the base unit is features a backup battery that will last up to 48 hours dependent on use, ensuring your careline service remains intact while your mains power is restored
Keep in mind that if there is a power cut and the battery backup in the base unit has run out, the wearable pendant alarm will not do anything when activated.
Epilepsy or dementia can cause changes in a person’s behaviour, movement, or state of consciousness.
In addition, individuals with epilepsy or dementia may have problems with falls and memory loss.
To ensure that help is available in an emergency, it is advised that people with epilepsy or dementia use a pendant alarm.
The best providers do not mind when you accidentally set off your alarm.
In fact, they are happy about it because they know that your device is working and you are safe and sound.
Pendant alarms for the elderly that are supplied by Telecare24 are IP67 water resistant, and can be dropped into water up to a metre deep for up to half an hour.
So you can comfortably wear your pendant alarm when taking a bath or showering.
Pendant alarms are particularly useful for older adults, people with disabilities, or anyone who lives alone and may need assistance in the event of an emergency.
